SHIBUMI GALLERY proudly presents The Music of The Pearl, showcasing a collection of new work by SHIBUMI artists featuring exquisite Tahititan, South Sea and Fresh Water pearls. At SHIBUMI, our love for pearls is no secret, and we're thrilled to share these innovative works of our featured artists.
Throughout history, pearls have held deep symbolism in various cultures, often linked to the ocean and the rhythm of the tides. They are also thought to reflect emotional states, with many believing that wearing pearls can bring a sense of calm and balance during uncertain times. In today’s world, where we face uncharted waters and uncontrollable circumstances, The Music of the Pearl invites us to explore the nature of pearls. Their imperfections and the unique 'songs' each pearl creates—some tranquil, others surprising—offer us a chance to reflect on our own experiences and rediscover our inner serenity.
As artists, hand picking pearls to work with can be a magical experience. Amongst hundreds to choose from, a single pearl might 'sing' out. Something about its luster, its shape, its color or sometimes we may not even be able to define what exactly is calling us. Each one is its own little magic world. But we know, this is the one (or ones) we were meant to work with. Our artists have chosen the inspired favorites that have sung out to them to create one-of-a-kind pieces for this show.
