Process: This extraordinary piece was designed for a client who, while traveling in Scotland, discovered this carved whale bone. It had washed ashore at the local beach and was naturally weathered by sun & sea.
My design was informed by her wish to be reminded of the piece's origin. And to be able to reach for it throughout her day as a touchstone - embodying the qualities of being soft, strong, & solid - all at once.
