Born in Scotland to a family full of artists and missionaries, it’s not surprising that Estyn is concerned with beauty and meaning. After studying graphic design and animation, she explored textiles and sculpture, eventually moving to New York, where she apprenticed with her aunt, artist Jessica Rose, who encouraged her to start designing jewelry.
“Following the thread of an idea leads me from one design to the next, frequently in an unanticipated direction.”
Her work has been shown in galleries throughout the United States, in London and Paris. After over 20 years of making jewelry, Estyn is currently pursuing an MFA in Metal at SUNY New Paltz.
