From the Bench — Notes by April Higashi

I rehomed this 11.6 ctw emerald set in 18k yellow gold last week. It was originally on a handmade 18k gold chain.

My client wanted a chunkier look, maybe a bit more casual, and we found a vintage handmade chain and switched it up!

I admire this client and friend for her confidence. She isn’t afraid to change direction or admit when something isn’t quite right. Instead, she moves forward boldly, using every choice as a catalyst for even better design.

Too often, I see people stuck in regret about their choices, missing the chance to reframe or improve them. Instead of reclaiming their agency, they settle for disappointment or repeat old stories.

Every piece we’re drawn to reveals something about us. If it isn’t perfect, it’s not a mistake—it’s a chance to learn, get curious, and move closer to your true self. And if it no longer fits, spend some time re-envisioning it or letting it go. After all, who knows who you’ll become tomorrow?
